Resident Doctors of Canada is pleased to honour those who, with enthusiasm, passion, and proficiency, have contributed to improving resident wellness in Canada. During his term as President and as Wellbeing Chair, Dr. Derek Puddester dedicated himself to rededicating RDoC’s efforts in promoting the wellness of all resident doctors in Canada. The Board has presented this award in honour of his achievements since 2002. Beginning in 2012, the Award has been presented in two categories: Staff and Resident.
Before February 2015, this award was known as the Dr. Derek Puddester CAIR Award for Resident Well-Being.

The RDoC Mikhael Award for Medical Education

Resident Doctors of Canada is proud to honour those, who with enthusiasm, passion, and proficiency, have contributed to improving undergraduate and postgraduate medical education in Canada. During his time on the Board of Directors, Dr. Joseph Mikhael worked tirelessly to represent the interests of all residents in Canada, refocusing CAIR’s role in medical education. The Board has presented this award in honour of his achievements since 2005. Beginning in 2013, the Award has been presented in two categories: Staff and Resident.

Resident Doctors of Canada is proud to honour those, who with enthusiasm, passion, and proficiency, have contributed to the enrichment of resident life in Canada. Lois Ross served for many years as Executive Director of CAIR and PAIRO, during which time she worked tirelessly to represent the interests of all resident doctors in Canada. The Board has presented this award since 2009 in honour of her achievements. Beginning in 2011, this award has been reserved to acknowledge the important role non-physicians play in residency.
