Driving System Change / Standards Setting

Standards Setting

By working in collaboration with PHOs, by empowering residents to model the change we are seeking and to advocate with impact, we are stronger together.

We inspire the system with vision by intentionally collecting and communicating the lived experience of all residents. We do this through research, and by building partnerships and listening and learning.

Stronger together, inspiring the system with vision, we build principles and positions on issues that are informed, evidence-based, and solutions focussed.

Positions on extension of training and credential creep, pan-Canadian licensure and resident mobility, physician health human resources, education design and assessment, and optimizing a positive work environment addressing intimidation and harassment and fostering anti-Black and anti-Indigenous racism work are all steeped in strong evidence-based arguments.

In this way we can be confident that national partners will listen to us as we bring the national voice of ALL residents to tables where discussions related to medical education are held
