Inspiring the System with Vision
Health Determinants Research Project

RDoC’s principles and positions on issues are informed by the diverse lived experiences of residents across Canada.
In 2024 RDoC launched a health determinants research initiative to collect, synthesize and communicate those diverse lived experiences and identify the determinants of health of residents, with particular emphasis on those most vulnerable, or most adversely affected by challenges within the medical education system.
Part one of this project, which consisted of research consultation with thought leaders and well-being advocates launched in June 2024. The results of this research have been analyzed and are informing RDoC’s future programming and advocacy work.
Equipped with the knowledge gained from this research and informed by the resident lived experience, we will drive system change to improve the culture of medicine.
