Nominations Process

Nominations may be submitted, accompanied by suitable documentation, by any member of Resident Doctors of Canada, Provincial Housestaff Organizations, Departments of Post-Graduate Medical Education, or any other organization associated with Resident Doctors of Canada (RDoC) or post-graduate medical education. Serving RDoC Board members and Award Committee members are not eligible to receive an RDoC Award. Self-nominations are permitted and encouraged.

RDoC is committed to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA) in all aspects of its Awards Program.

We also recognize the ongoing impact of racism and colonialism in medicine and are actively committed to anti-racism and reconciliation in our work.

We therefore encourage nominations from individuals of all backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences, particularly those from historically marginalized and equity-deserving groups.

Our goal is to recognize contributions to resident wellness, education, and service that advance belonging, cultural safety, and fairness in medical training and practice.

Description of Nominee

In the text box below, outline why RDoC should consider your nominee for this award by
highlighting the following:

• The nominee’s sustained commitment to improving resident wellness through specific actions or initiatives that champion healthier ways to learn and work;
• Examples of leadership, creativity, or collaboration in promoting the well-being of residents; and
• Contributions to meaningful, lasting improvements in resident wellness in Canada, including, where relevant, efforts that foster inclusion, belonging, or culturally safe environments.

Please note: nominators and recipients must be available to present and receive their award at a virtual awards reception scheduled for June 11, 2026 from 19:00–20:30 ET.
