RDoC Mikhael Award for Medical Education Nomination Form

Please note: The closing date to submit nominations is February 9, 2026, 17:00hrs ET. Only online submissions will be accepted.

Nominations Process

Nominations may be submitted, accompanied by suitable documentation, by any member of Resident Doctors of Canada, Provincial Housestaff Organizations, Departments of Post-Graduate Medical Education, or any other organization associated with Resident Doctors of Canada (RDoC) or post-graduate medical education. Serving RDoC Board members and Award Committee members are not eligible to receive an RDoC Award. Self-nominations are permitted and encouraged.

We also recognize the ongoing impact of racism and colonialism in medicine and are actively committed to anti-racism and reconciliation in our work.

Our goal is to recognize contributions to resident wellness, education, and service that advance belonging, cultural safety, and fairness in medical training and practice.

Description of Nominee

In the text box below, outline why RDoC should consider your nominee for this award by highlighting the following:

  • The nominee’s commitment to excellence and innovation in medical education through actions or initiatives that champion healthier ways to learn and work;
  • Examples of effective and learner-centred teaching, mentorship, or leadership that enhances the quality of medical training; and
  • Demonstrated efforts to bring about change that has the potential to result in positive improvement to medical education in Canada.

Letters of Support

Provide two 1-page letters of support from separate individuals or organizations familiar with the nominee’s activities. Letters may be uploaded with the nomination form or may be emailed to awards@residentdoctors.ca.
