Pouria is currently a PGY-3 Internal Medicine resident at the University of Ottawa, where he will also begin a Medical Oncology fellowship at the Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre in July 2026. Pouria’s clinical and academic interests center on cancer and cardiovascular health, and in addition to the role of socioeconomic status in healthcare delivery and overall health equity. Prior to medical school, he completed a Master’s in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, and he intends to draw on this methodological training throughout his tenure. His commitment to resident advocacy has been longstanding: he currently serves as President of the Professional Association of Residents of Ontario (PARO), prior to that he was the secretary of executive board of directors for PARO, and has also acted as the site chair for the University of Ottawa PARO Council. At the University of Ottawa, he has contributed to institutional governance as the resident lead for the Faculty Council, the Postgraduate Medical Education Committee, and the Accreditation Committee. Pouria completed his medical degree at McGill University in 2023.
