Resident Awareness Week 2019 (Monday, February 4 – Friday, February 8) is a nationwide celebration of the important work done by resident physicians in Canadian health systems and patient care. To acknowledge and promote the achievements of residents across the country, Resident Doctors of Canada (RDoC) will once again be launching new promotional resources throughout the week.
These resources include a new infographic, What Does It Take to Become a Resident Doctor? This resource provides personal answers from residents across Canada to this open-ended question. We will also be launching an updated version of our Ten Fast Facts about Resident Doctors in Canada infographic, presenting relevant information and increasing awareness about Canadian residents. We also have new additions to our Resident Profiles, an ongoing series of first-person accounts detailing what it’s really like to be a resident training in various specialties. We’ll be sharing these resources all week on our website, Facebook page, and Twitter, and we’ll also be sharing awareness-related material from our stakeholders, including our provincial partners. Be sure to follow the hashtag #residentawareness.
RDoC represents over 10,000 resident doctors across Canada. Established in 1972, we are a not-for-profit organization providing a unified, national voice for our membership. RDoC collaborates with other national health organizations to foster excellence in resident physician training, physician wellness, and patient care.
On behalf of the 2018-2019 RDoC Board of Directors, I hope you have an excellent Resident Awareness Week!
Dr. Michael Arget
RDoC President, 2018-2019
