Inside the Lives of Canada’s Resident Doctors
Call for Submissions
Resident Doctors of Canada is publishing Inside the Lives of Canada’s Resident Doctors, the first anthology of stories about residents’ experiences in medical training. Our goal is to increase our mutual understanding and respect for each other as individuals and colleagues, as well as to enhance public awareness of resident doctors’ important roles in the healthcare system. Sharing personal reflections and narratives will enrich our shared experiences as resident doctors.
Broadly, we are looking for stories told in prose, poetry, or art that capture the highs and lows of being a resident. These can describe (but are not limited to):
- meaningful or challenging experiences with peers, mentors or patients in clinical, academic or advocacy settings;
- challenges with physical or mental health, having/raising children in residency, etc.;
- perspectives from residents trained outside of Canada; and/or
- experiences related to differing levels of physical ability, diverse gender identities and/or sexual orientation.
Do you have a story to tell? We would love to hear from you! Please view our submission guidelines in more detail.
The deadline for all submissions is April 30, 2019.
